Ambré

A quiet, editorial restaurant site that sells the room before the menu.

The brief

A restaurant site has seconds to sell an atmosphere and then has to get a visitor from the menu to a booked table.

How we built it

Eight real pages on React Router with Framer Motion: slow background slideshows with scrims for legible text, page transitions, scroll reveals, a custom cursor, magnetic buttons and an image lightbox. All content lives in data files so photos and copy swap easily.

What is in it

  • Home, menu with categories, about, chefs, gallery, private dining, reservations and contact
  • Auto-advancing image backgrounds with legibility scrims
  • Page transitions, custom cursor and scroll progress
  • Image lightbox and a reservation request form
